It could be an abandoned area design for the Dredge, they are moles/miners. I think I see some human figures walking into the tunnels. Maybe an early GW sketch of Asura underground tunnels/gates.

Your post reminds me how versatile these art pieces are, i.e., the visual identities of the various campaigns overlap quite nicely and it's not so rare to be unable to say from which campaign the art pieces comes from. Some pieces are very different, while some remind us of aspects of other campaigns. See how Kekai uses a Water Djinn artwork piece to make a Margonite lookalike (in ImafineFX #44).
Somewhat, I think that the approach followed in Aion, with zones having quite strong visual identities, is not bad, as it can give a great sense of immersion when combined with music themes. I have (like many) fond memories of Sorrow's Furnace (not surprinsingly the pic of my current Windows background ), with its dark ambiance and epic music (I've got the bonus tracks from Jeremy Soule).
I hope GW2 will be an art painting made alive (or at least have an amazing collector edition ).

Would anyone else here buy a GW artwork book if they did another one or two of them?
I know I would to go with the one I got from the prophecies collectors edition

This is really lame, all this time and nothing more than a few "this is what we would like to do images" to show for it. I seriously doubt that Guild wars 2 will ever see the light of day.

Why? Because Anet is not ready to show screenshots?
Don't you realized the minute Anet officially shows something for GW2, people will expect the full game to come out tomorrow?
Anet is playing it cool. They learned from Tabula Rosa and Auto Assault.
They aren't going to "blow their wad" before the game is close to ready.

This is what happens when I take a break from GW, come back to Guru just to check updates, and we got GW2 concept arts. Hopefully next time I check up it'll be GW2 Screenshots ^^
But overall, I don't really care for concept art. It's nice and all, but it gives nothing what the game could look like. Not saying it's bad, just I don't care for concept art.
Oh well, back to other games

So, you don't care for concept art, but after long absent from the game, you return to the fan forum and make one reply in the thread that you don't care for? interesting!
Anyway, has anyone seen this Valley of the King concept art before? its from CGHub and has guild wars and arena net as its tag. Just wandering.

I both hate the grievers and laugh at them. Wait so long, now you get concept, and you still QQ? Get a life. I for one was glad about that one "Snow Battle" concept art for a while. "Construction Site" being for GW2 and not Utopia, saddens me. Mainly due to the modern-like city in the background. I don't think GW would be a good game to mix sci-fi with fantasy (or modern day with fantasy). But, 'tis all good.

I'd say that is the Desert Dragon. Yes, not Grothmar, a different one. Look at the rock, the size and shape looks almost exactly like Augury Rock. And we never see Augury Rock after we Ascend (the rock at a part gets blown off, so it is no longer complete rock).
Besides, "Dragon of Storm and Air" beats "Dragon of Sand in your boots" :P

There are actually holes in mass like that found in the dry parts of the Maguuma, such as Dry Top.

First one, never seen, my guess it was meant for GW2 or NF. Second two, seen. Think both were for NF. Maybe the second was for Utopia.

Anything about GW2 is good news for me, even if I think concept art isn't what the game will look like

Me being a published 3D artist I was looking through all the entries for Exotique 5 [Ballistic Publishing] contest, and Kekai Kotaki also entered with some images. ^_^
Under some of them it says concept art for Guild Wars, and I don't think they depict things from GW1.
Too bad the pics are small, but I enjoyed them big time ^_^
Good luck Kekai Kotaki!

This one only says Concept Art, but I love it nonetheless:

EDIT: Not Exotique, but Expose...

I have to wonder how different Guild Wars 2 is going to be from GW1. I don't mind changes, mind you, but if it's going to have a futuristic vibe to it, that would probably be a good thign to disclose BEFORE release.

Have to agree with you there, ALOT of people will flip out if it is futuristic.

Dancing, to keep the melee morale up
Regarding the future thing, I'm highly doubtful that was actually intended for the game. Artists are allowed to doodle.

Umm... Under the "Female Gunner" and the one that looks like a Sylvari concept art, it says "concept art for Guild Wars".
That means it is for Guild Wars, not just a doodle, especially that in some of his other entries for the contest, Kotaki specifically says "doodle" or "testing for fun".
